Satvir Bungar joined more than hundred people across six towns in Sandwell, as the BDO Managing Director took on the prestigious role of Commonwealth Games Batonbearer.
Satvir, our Head of Business Services M&A, was part of the Queen’s Baton Relay in West Bromwich. The relay marks the build-up to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, which took place between 28 July and 8 August 2022.
The 16th official Queen’s Baton Relay has covered all 72 nations and territories. It began its 294-day long journey to every corner of the Commonwealth on 7 October 2021, including 25 days visiting 180 communities in England, spanning 2,500 miles.
Satvir commented: “It was an incredible experience to be part of The Queen’s Baton Relay in West Bromwich, as part of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.”
“I met some inspirational Batonbearers hearing their untold stories about how they help to make the world a better place. It reminded me that we all have an opportunity to do our bit and small actions can deliver big movements.”
He added: “I’m extremely grateful to everyone who nominated me for this once-in-a-life-time opportunity, representing my community in the West Midlands where I live and work.”
