We’ll help you succeed

You will be a key member of the UK VAT group providing UK VAT advisory services to a wide range of clients. 

The primary responsibility will be to deal with all matters relating to the management of a portfolio of existing clients and assist with the development of targets in order to ensure the continued growth of the business. You will also provide assistance to senior members of staff in both client work and in the management of the group, as appropriate.

Key to the role is for the individual to be enthusiastic about honing their advisory skills: technical research, written output and communications that build trust with clients and other BDO people. This is essential due to the size and nature of the BDO client portfolio and teams. Furthermore, the individual will be expected to be able to consider and highlight further opportunities to develop new work.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • An interest in the complexities of UK VAT
  • Passion to help clients and other BDO people to resolve UK VAT uncertainties through practical recommendations based on extensive in-depth research / analysis and consultation with other team members
  • A desire to improve their advisory skills through continuous on-the-job coaching from senior team members
  • Experience of a wide set of UK VAT advisory situations for clients (although not essential if this is the reason for moving)
  • Sufficient technical knowledge to be able to find their way around UK VAT law, recent case law precedent and HMRC guidance
  • Ability to deal directly with clients (although not essential if this is the reason for moving).
