Role Overview:

The Corporate Tax hub is about to embark on an exciting journey, to further evolve our service delivery offering to our internal clients. Therefore, we are looking to recruit a proactive and professional individual as a senior assistant forming part of the Corporate Tax team who provide national Corporate Tax compliance services. As part of the growing Liverpool Corporate Tax team, you will be actively supporting the client facing teams of your dedicated stream as well as embarking on a promising career path within BDO.

The Role:

This will be a challenging yet rewarding role and your day-to-day duties will involve:

  • Preparing Corporation Tax returns on behalf of our local office teams.
  • Managing your own workload and adhering to daily targets and team SLA’s.
  • Working as part of a team, supporting your colleagues, and positively contributing to the team’s success via your work.
  • Working with systems such as AlphaTax, Global Portal, Excel, ServiceNow and more.
  • Liaising with our client facing teams to support work progression.
  • Completing initial reviews on the work of junior members of the team to support the improvement of quality and support their development.
  • Participating in informal coaching and shadowing to support junior members of the team.

Technical requirements and professional skills:

  • Competent IT skills including knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, and remotely when required.
  • Proactive ‘Can Do’ attitude.
  • Well presented with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good time management, organisational skills and able to prioritise effectively.
  • Capable of using own initiative and taking a flexible approach when required.
  • Working knowledge of tax/accountancy or studying toward/qualified in an accountancy or tax qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience coaching others is highly desirable.
