As well as assisting on large-scale operations, beyond the capacity of a core specialist team, they provide the unparalleled expertise we need to keep moving forward. You’ll be someone who can work pro-actively, managing your own tasks, but you’ll also be confident collaborating with others, communicating regularly with senior managers, Directors, and BDO’s Partners to enable us to serve our clients effectively.  You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to our clients.

The firm is looking to recruit an Operational Administrator to support BDO’s Shared Service Centre (SSC). This team is one of several Hubs within BDO’s rapidly growing SSC.  SSC team members work internally within the business providing support to the client facing members of BDO.

This will be a challenging and rewarding role where you will:

General:

  • The range of duties that the assistant may be required to perform are varied and will depend on the requirements of the teams they support
  • The assistant is responsible for undertaking a range of administrative tasks connected with supporting the local management and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the team
  • Maintaining Excel spreadsheets for routine staff management processes, for example, staffing lists, overtime
  • Tasks may at times include a range of general office duties such as sorting and distribution of post or faxes, scanning, delivering messages, photocopying, archiving, stock management, meeting and greeting. if required by the business
  • To provide an exceptional client experience and support client initiatives within the firm, as well as being responsive and helping to create a positive impression at all touch points
  • Collate data demand and resource forecasting.
  • Day to day operational support (to arrange cover where appropriate, for example)

Service Management:

  • Gather data for internal and external MI dashboards
  • Publicise and communicate SSC services / performance within BDO through all channels
  • Act as point of escalation for stakeholders queries
  • Publish and administrate security for internal and external dashboards
  • Gather data for a Quality framework to be used across the SSC

Technical requirements and professional skills:

  • IT skills - strong working knowledge of MS Office/Office365 Suite
  • Experience or knowledge of PowerBI is advantageous
  • Strong analytical skills with experience of administration ideally in an internal service or change management environment
  • Credible and confident to interact with internal managers
  • Strong people skills: empathetic and encouraging style to support colleagues and internal clients
  • Excellent time management, organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Be able to lead by example and influence optimal performance of team
  • Responsible and has tenacity to ensure delivery of excellent client service by SSC
  • Confident and robust enough to challenge standards where required
  • Ability to learn new skills and an appetite to develop
