Our Shared Service Centre team (SSC) provides essential support to a number of teams across our firm. As well as assisting on large-scale operations, beyond the capacity of a core specialist team, they provide the unparalleled expertise we need to keep moving forward. You’ll be someone who can work pro-actively, managing your own tasks, but you’ll also be confident collaborating with others, communicating regularly with senior managers, Directors, and BDO’s Partners to enable us to serve our clients effectively.  You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to our clients.

You’ll be someone with:

  • Experience in a similar role preparing statutory accounts
  • Experience preparing management accounts would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of other accounting functions such as accounting workbooks and management accounts is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience of using general accounts production packages required, full training will be provided on CaseWare.

The position of accounts assistant will be one where you will:

  • Support regional client facing audit teams by preparing statutory accounts from trial balance in line with UK reporting standards.
  • Be confident preparing consolidated accounts.
  • Be available to support new members of the team during their initial training.
  • Carry out peer reviews for new members of the team.
  • Work extensively with BDO’s proprietary workflow tools.
  • Deliver team outputs to agreed timescale, quality and volume.
  • Deal with internal queries with colleagues and teams across BDO UK.
  • Provide support to other colleague teams dependent upon seasonality of core work.

    No professional training contract is provided with this role.  However ongoing training is provided to meet role specific needs.
