The Business Services and Outsourcing team are essential to meeting our clients' evolving requirements. The purpose of this role is to work in the Global Technology Services team as a Test Analyst experienced in testing processes and procedures to work on our Global Payroll Systems.  It is your role to ensure functionality works exactly as per requirements whilst also adhering to best practice.  By working closely with the test and programme managers you will be able to understand what the product is meant to do and conduct tasks such as functional testing, end to end customer scenario testing, and be familiar with non-functional aspects of testing.

Principal responsibilities:

  • Review and analyse change requests, requirements documents and application specifications along with any other testing artifacts
  • Collaborate with relevant users to clarify requirements where necessary
  • Static Testing
  • Preparation and execution of Functional Testing – (UAT and Deep Functional)
  • Specification of test data required/other pre-requisites to test execution where applicable
  • Ensuring test policies and procedures are adhered to 
  • Writing bug and error reports for development teams
  • Ensuring the Test/Programme Manager are updated on the status on testing activities, issues, risks and escalating issues as appropriate
  • Working within a team to successfully deliver testing related tasks on time and with the highest quality possible
  • Assisting with the maintenance of planning, tracking, reporting, quality management and communication documentation
  • Participate in testing activities on multiple projects including researching and troubleshooting issues identified in testing, and communicating resolutions/workarounds to team members
  • Sharing knowledge and skills to achieve goals and facilitate issue resolution
  • Contribute to the enhancement of test related documentation on standards and systems
  • Supporting, coordinating and presenting user training and training materials

Technical requirements and professional qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of software testing practices and planning (essential)
  • Proven experience as a test analyst (essential)
  • Exposure to testing within a Business as Usual and Project environment (essential)
  • Previous experience designing/writing test scripts and testing artifacts (essential)
  • Salesforce knowledge (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Automated testing tools and principles (desirable)
  • Understanding of Software Implementation or development life cycle (essential)
  • Experienced in understanding file structures including CSV, flat and XML files (essential) 
  • MS Office including comprehensive Excel experience (essential)
  • Test elements of MS Azure Devops (desirable)
  • SharePoint (desirable)
  • Experience of import/export of data files into databases (essential)
  • Must be capable of working with remotely located colleagues and clients using tools such as WebEx and Teams (essential)
  • Understanding and experience of payroll (desirable)


  • Strong on written and verbal communication skills to effectively work within the organisation on testing matters in business English to produce test scripts, defects and other testing related documentation
  • Have a passion for testing and delivering the best possible quality for users
  • Able to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years conducting testing in an IT environment, including writing and executing tests and scenarios utilising various types of specifications 
  • Experienced in testing concepts, principles and methodologies
  • Able to provide tactful, insightful feedback to maintain a good working relationship with other members of the team 
  • A great problem solver with an analytical mind, the ability to work in a team and individually 
  • Organised to plan, prioritise, and conduct several complex activities simultaneously while working under pressure to meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision, owning tasks and following them through to completion
  • Keen to take on new responsibilities and open to recent technology
  • Familiar with agile frameworks and QA methodology
