Why Apprenticeships are so important to us in Liverpool at the Shared Service Centre

In July 2022, Shadow Employment Minister and local Merseyside MP Alison McGovern paid a visit to our Shared Service Centre (SSC) in Liverpool to see first-hand how the accountancy profession is supporting the Government’s levelling up agenda through job creation and skills training and development across the UK.

Our SSC is now one of the largest private sector employers in Liverpool, having grown almost 20 times in size over the last six years.

We were joined by Pete Ward, Deputy CEO at social mobility charity Leadership Through Sport & Business (LTSB), who spoke passionately about his charity’s ongoing partnership with BDO. Working alongside LTSB, we remain committed to providing apprenticeships as a highly valuable route into meaningful, well-paid employment opportunities.
