Project and Resourcing Coordinator

Ideas | People | Trust

We’re BDO. An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organisations need to navigate today’s changing world.

We work with the companies that are Britain’s economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high‑growth businesses that fuel the economy – and directly advise the owners and management teams leading them.

We’ll broaden your horizons

Playing an important support role at BDO, our Secretarial and Administration team contributes to our success by taking responsibility for planning and organisation. Their proactive approach to what we do ensures our projects operate seamlessly and co-operation remains strong across our firm. Whatever the challenge, they provide the foundations on which we can excel. Joining this team, you’ll enjoy a friendly and supportive environment – and plenty of variety to keep you on your toes. Want to play your part in our international operation?

We’ll help you succeed

Leading organisations trust us because of the quality of our advice. That quality grows from a thorough understanding of their business, and that understanding comes from working closely with them and building long-lasting relationships.

You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

As a Project & Resourcing Coordinator, you will be part of a fast growing audit team. As an essential part of the team, you support the audit team and the audit process with respect to resourcing to ensure our audits are of high quality. Working closely with the Resourcing Manager, the Project & Resourcing Coordinator provides support with reflecting staffing decisions for the audit projects in the staff booking system as well as supporting any related activities such as stocktake or training coordination.

Typical responsibilities cover the coordination tasks required to support audit clients and teams.

  • Coordination of key meetings for the client teams including review resourcing and budgets, etc.
  • Support staffing activities across the audit department (110 staff), incl. Stocktake coordination (sector specific).
  • Update resource management tools with accurate information and ensure the information in the tool is up to date, incl. coordination of New Starter/Leaver/Staff transfer administration in our resourcing system
  • Processing of regular reporting based on our resourcing system, such as weekly availability reports.
  • Liaison with our offshoring and outsourced partners to forecast/book/update resource bookings against the planned hours.
  • Support in project management process and delivers information for planning and resource purposes.
  • Support the Resource Manager with forward planning and budgeting for the audit projects

You'll be someone who:

  • has some experience working in administration - either within a similar role such as PMO, Resourcing, Client Coordination - or keen to develop experience in these areas.
  • is IT literate with a strong competence in MS Office (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • has accuracy and attention to detail.
  • enjoys solving problems.
  • has organisational skills.
  • can comfortably communicate at all levels (written and verbal) and build strong relationships with clients within the business, and within the wider audit team.
  • is able to work with confidential information.
  • is happy to work under pressure and to deadlines, and to respond quickly.
  • is a strong team worker.
  • is flexible and adaptable and can manage multiple demands efficiently and effectively.

You’ll be able to be yourself; we’ll recognise and value you for who you are and celebrate and reward your contributions to our business. We’re committed to agile working, and we offer everyone the opportunity to work in ways that suit them, their teams, and the task at hand.

At BDO, we’ll help you achieve your personal goals and career ambitions, and we have programmes, resources, and frameworks that provide clarity and structure around career development.

We’re in it together
