Senior IT change & Adoption Manager

Ideas | People | Trust

We’re BDO. An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organisations need to navigate today’s changing world.

We work with the companies that are Britain’s economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high‑growth businesses that fuel the economy - and directly advise the owners and management teams that lead them.

We’ll broaden your horizons

To ensure our services and applications are fit for the modern market, our IT team collaborates with every department. They develop, they explore and they implement the new ideas helping us to change the future of accounting, tax and business consulting. But, just as importantly, they maintain the tech that keeps us advancing. By testing and adopting the future of financial technical solutions, they find new and exciting ways to drive us forward. And you could too. In an IT role at BDO, you’ll become part of a team that act as the backbone for our business. No matter who you are or what your skillset is, we’ll give you the training and support you need to achieve whatever you put your mind to.

We’ll help you succeed

Leading organisations trust us because of the quality of our advice. That quality grows from a thorough understanding of their business, and that understanding comes from working closely with them and building long-lasting relationships.

You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

This role will be responsible for ensuring that employees and clients effectively adopt and maximise the use of BDO UK’s IT services and digital tools. By driving user adoption of our existing tools, as well as supporting the wider technology change initiatives, you will enhance productivity, improve user experience, and help the firm gain greater value from its IT investments.

You will manage change management, IT training initiatives—including the development of digital learning content—and digital communications to support employees in confidently using new PMO initiatives and existing IT solutions. A key focus will be moving IT communications away from reliance on email and towards more engaging and interactive digital channels. While user enablement and engagement are the primary goals, the role also contributes to ensuring that BDO achieves a return on its IT investments by increasing adoption and reducing inefficiencies.

In this busy and rewarding role you'll also:

IT Change and Adoption Strategy

  • Develop and implement strategies to drive the effective use of IT services and digital products across the firm.
  • Identify areas where technology is underutilised and work with business teams to increase engagement and efficiency.
  • Support business teams in embedding IT solutions into their daily workflows, ensuring a smooth and effective user experience.
  • Track adoption levels, user feedback, and engagement metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure IT adoption initiatives contribute to optimising the firm's IT investments by improving efficiency and reducing wasted resources.
  • Support smooth transitions when new technologies or system updates are introduced

Training and Digital Learning

  • Lead IT training initiatives to ensure employees have the knowledge and confidence to use IT tools effectively.
  • Develop and manage digital learning content, including e-learning modules, video tutorials, and self-service resources.
  • Collaborate with IT service teams to enhance knowledge-sharing and improve user support resources.
  • Establish IT champions across different business areas to promote digital adoption and peer learning

User Engagement & Digital Communications

  • Own and evolve the IT communication strategy to ensure clear, engaging, and targeted messaging about IT changes and best practices.
  • Reduce reliance on email by utilising modern communication channels such as Nexthink, Teams, SharePoint, and internal social platforms.
  • Develop engaging digital content to encourage IT adoption, including articles, guides, videos, and interactive messaging.
  • Gather and analyse user insights to refine communication strategies and address adoption challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with Internal Comms and Central PMO to ensure firm-wide initiatives are strategically aligned and effectively incorporated.
  • Partner with IT and business leaders to ensure technology adoption aligns with business objectives and drives value

You'll be someone with:

  • Proven experience in IT change management, user adoption, or digital transformation within a professional services or corporate environment.
  • A strong understanding of IT communications and digital engagement strategies.
  • Experience in designing and delivering IT training, including digital learning content.
  • The ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, from frontline staff to senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess adoption trends and user engagement.
  • Knowledge of digital workplace tools such as Microsoft 365, Nexthink, and SharePoint.

You’ll be able to be yourself; we’ll recognise and value you for who you are and celebrate and reward your contributions to the business.  We’re committed to agile working, and we offer everyone the opportunity to work in ways that suit them, their teams, and the task in hand.

At BDO, we’ll help you achieve your personal goals and career ambitions, and we have programmes, resources, and frameworks that provide clarity and structure around career development.
