Senior Partner Operations Assistant - 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Ideas | People | Trust

We’re BDO. An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organisations need to navigate today’s changing world.

We work with the companies that are Britain’s economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high growth businesses that fuel the economy - and directly advise the owners and management teams that lead them.

We’ll broaden your horizons

The Partnership Office provides support to the Leadership Team which is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s strategy together with oversight of the management of the firm. The Partner Office team, which sits within the Partnership Office, is responsible for partner HR matters and supports the Leadership Team and the Partnership Office Directors with ad hoc projects.

We’ll help you succeed

Leading organisations trust us because of the quality of our advice. That quality grows from a thorough understanding of their business, and that understanding comes from working closely with them and building long-lasting relationships.

You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working pro-actively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

In this role you’ll assist with the provision of an efficient, effective and professional HR administrative support service to the team and will perform at a professional level with minimum day to day supervision. You’ll also:

  • Assist with the administration of partner performance and compensation processes, including managing the partner performance system: using it to deliver the process and being able to download reports to respond to information requests. Supporting with compensation models: data entry, basic analysis and model maintenance tasks.
  • Support with day to day team operations, such as desk and room bookings and progress tracking
  • Manage tasks related to partner hiring, onboarding, and departures
  • Maintenance and analysis of partner HR records
  • Provide quality and brand reviews for team outputs
  • Manage diaries as required to deliver partner processes and facilitate required governance and approvals
  • Lead partner insurance scheme administration and manage partner subscriptions
  • Manage small-scale Partnership Operations team projects in collaboration with managers
  • Ensure quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement of workflows and processes
  • Liaise with the shared service centre (SSC) and provide first review of SSC Outputs
  • Support with the planning, management and facilitation of small events as required
  • Support with audits of processes

You’ll be someone with:

  • Previous experience in administration or operations role
  • Good analytical and numerical ability – able to analyse, evaluate and interpret data
  • Highly organised and disciplined to enable management of high volumes of actions in an efficient manner whilst maintaining attention to detail
  • Experience of managing small projects
  • Ability to identify and evaluate problems and take a proactive approach to the development of solutions with some supervision, escalating matters that have the potential to compromise required outcomes on a timely basis
  • Discreet with a strong appreciation of the confidential nature of work within the Partnership Operations team
  • A good understanding of governance processes, controls and approvals
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and complete processes within agreed timescales
  • Ability to work well under pressure

At BDO, we’ll help you achieve your personal goals and career ambitions, and we have programmes, resources, and frameworks that provide clarity and structure around career development.

We’re in it together
