Our Tax Assurance & Risk Management (‘TA&RM’) team is a fast growing team with three dedicated tax partners and over 20 individuals who together have supported over 300 clients.  Our work has helped clients meet their legislative tax governance compliance obligations and strategically improve their tax performance and provide assurance to tax authorities and business stakeholders. We are an award-winning specialist tax team.

This is first and foremost a dynamic client-facing role that requires excellent communication skills with the ability to distil complex concepts into easily understood information suitable for a wide array of stakeholders (internal and external). Your work will largely be project based, servicing a range of clients and managing junior resource/ resource from other departments to deliver exceptional client service. You will initially be providing support to more senior members of the team, working in many cases directly to the TA&RM partners and directors. However, most of your work will be client facing and will require you to actively manage client portfolios and manage project delivery.

Whilst this role will involve some consideration of corporate taxation, candidates from other areas of taxation are welcome as are those who may have a background in internal audit or similar. Our work is broader than any one particular area of tax and we require candidates with good commercial awareness who are eager to learn, adapt and contribute to this area of growth for the business.  Importantly, we are looking for a natural curiosity about how tax functions and businesses run, from the governance, processes and controls to the people and technology they use and the tax technical issues relevant to them.

You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

We are looking for someone:

  • To act as a key point of contact within the firm for the client, together with the Partner. This will involve responding quickly to, as well as anticipating, client requests/needs, keeping clients informed of progress in relation to all aspects of the service provided, and maintaining regular contact with clients.

  • With experience in end-to-end project delivery

  • With a strong presentation style, and confidence in hosting workshops, training sessions and webinars, often to Board level.

  • Broad tax technical background to be able to talk knowledgeably at a good level about all taxes

  • Educated to degree level, and/or CTA and/or ACA qualified or equivalent, or relevant experience.

  • Experience of Tax Assurance & Risk Management work is an advantage (including tax process, strategy, SAO and CCO) – definitely a keen interest in governance and tax performance.
