Role Overview

As the Innovation and Technology Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in enhancing and automating processes within our Expatriate tax team, as well as the wider Global Employer Services (GES) team. Your main goal will be to reduce administrative time and costs, allowing the team to deliver exceptional client service more efficiently. Additionally, you will work on developing and enhancing tools that our clients can utilise, further improving their experience with our services.

Whether you already have experience in global mobility and a keen interest in technology, or you come from a project management background with strong skills in Microsoft tools, this role offers a unique opportunity to develop and implement innovative solutions. You will collaborate closely with our Tax Digital and Innovation Transformation team and our Tax Labs team to bring new ideas to life. Our IT department will also support you in this journey.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance and automate processes within the Expatriate tax and wider GES teams

  • Develop and enhance tools for internal use and client utilisation

  • Collaborate with the Tax Digital and Innovation Transformation team and Tax Labs team

  • Work closely with the IT department to implement new solutions

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction

  • Provide training and support to team members on new tools and processes

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions

  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements

  • Assist in the planning and execution of tax technology training programs

  • Support junior colleagues with one-to-one guidance and mentorship

  • Support the Innovation and Technology Associate Director in running the National GES Technology group

  • Collaborate with the Global GES Technology group to share ideas and best practices

  • Collecting and prioritising requirements to ensure all enhancements identified by the GES team are included in future roadmaps for changes with global or third-party vendors.

  • Build out further processes and tools on our Assignment Management system (which is built on the Equus AssignmentPro Platform)

  • Utilise your knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft platforms, and Equus AssignmentPro to suggest and implement technology solutions

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft platforms

  • Proven ability to manage projects and implement process improvements

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a global team

Desirable:

  • Experience in Global mobility or a related field

  • Experience with tax digital transformation

  • Familiarity with automation tools and software

  • Background in IT Project Management, possibly Prince 2 and Agile methodologies

  • Knowledge of current trends in global mobility and tax legislation

  • Experience in leading or participating in technology-focused groups or committees

  • Understanding of data privacy and security principles

  • Experience with Microsoft technology tools including SharePoint, Power Apps, Power BI

  • Experience using the Equus AssignmentPro tool, specifically drafting workflows and reporting
