Workday Test & PMO Lead (12 month FTC)

You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

BDO require the engagement of an experienced test manager to work within our Workday PMO to oversee and test data management and integrations within Workday and as part of our broader ERP landscape. The role will be a 1 year fixed term contract to stand up the testing function within the Workday team and train / transition to more junior team members during the engagement.

In this role you will support the Workday team with testing and PMO activities relating to changes within Workday as well as coordinating activities across the other product teams connected within the wider ERP ecosystem. You will also manage the coordination of the testing in preparation for the Workday update cycles (twice a year) and implement a robust and ongoing process consistently across the Workday platform.

You’ll also:

  • Integration Strategy and Scope formulation Approach, effort and timeline estimates and calculations and additional resource requirements 
  • Test planning – work with product managers and test function to plan resource requirements and activities, scenario building, integration requirements, script creation and ensure logical order for traceability and repeatability 
  • Test management execution - management of test resource and across platform activities, management of test data, execution of test scripts, monitoring and recording of results, support implementation of standard configuration management process and support with maintaining the tenant management plan 
  • Defect management - Implement standard documented processes for effective defect reporting , triage, assignments and re-allocations for re-testing 
  • Reporting - ensure consistent project level to project team as required and ensure consistent test progress reporting 
  • Test closure - ensure closure reports are completed and approved, plan any re-work required post project and ensure regression pack available 
  • Process documentation & Training - proactively create and maintain procedure documentation and train members of the product teams on new procedures 
  • Product Roadmap Coordination - support workday product teams in coordinating and managing product roadmaps and facilitate the move to a more regular cycle of continuous improvement 
  • Project Coordination - assist in the development and maintenance of project plans, coordinate project activities and ensure they are completed on time and track project milestones and deliverables 

You’ll be someone with:

  • AzureDevOps set up and use (nee VSTS, VSO, TFS) (or similar, ie Jira) 
  • WorkDay experience (if not, then proven experience of working on a large ERP implementation such as SAP / Oracle) 
  • Experience with testing system integrations and applying relevant test methodologies and processes 
  • Knowledge of Professional Services processes (client / project management, time recording etc) an advantage
