You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

In this busy and rewarding role you’ll also:

• Develop and implement the Test Automation Strategy and supporting Roadmap.

• Provide Test Automation subject matter expertise.
• Design, build and maintain a robust, scalable and reusable Test Automation Framework.
• Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies for automation.
• Provide leadership to a team of embedded Test Automation Engineers.
• Perform hands on test automation where it is required.
• Ensure Test Environments and Test Data meet the needs of the Test Automation Team.
• Track, report, and manage Test Automation progress, progress and ROI.
• Drive the shift left of Testing through early and continuous automation in the pursuit of fail fast and fix quick.
• Introduce and seek further test automation & tooling opportunities in the pursuit of wider process improvement initiatives.
• On a day-to-day basis you will:
  • Hold check-ins with the Automation Engineers.
  • Act upon any impediments experienced by the Automation Engineers.
  • Collaborate with Testers, the development and product teams to identify test requirements and prioritise test automation efforts.
  • Increase Test Automation Coverage.
  • Define and monitor key test automation metrics.
  • Conduct the required R&D to support the implementation of the Test Automation Strategy.

You’ll be someone with:

• Experience in developing and implementing Test Automation Strategies based upon ROI and the drive to fail fast.
• The ability to adapt and learn new tools and technologies.

• You will have as a minimum, experience in the following Test Automation, tooling & technologies:
  • Proficient in the development of Test Automation Frameworks.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Javascript and C#.
  • Proficient in Playwright and UI and API Automation.
  • Proficient in the use of AzureDevOps.
  • Experienced in Test Automation in Azure .NET environments.
  • Strong knowledge of API testing and tools like Postman and RestAssured.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD Pipeline integration in support of DevSecOps practices.
  • Exposure to BDD, Gherkin & Cucumber frameworks utilising Specflow+.
• Nice to have experience:
  • Performance Testing, ideally JMeter.
  • Accessibility Testing, ideally Playwright AXE.
  • Compatibility Testing.
  • SonarQube Cloud.
