Audit Stream Learning & Development – L&D Implementation Coordinator

Ideas | People | Trust

We’re BDO. An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organisations need to navigate today’s changing world.

We work with the companies that are Britain’s economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high‑growth businesses that fuel the economy – and directly advise the owners and management teams leading them.

We’ll broaden your horizons

Learning and Development (L&D) is a key enabler of our strategy as an Audit Stream and critical to our success. It supports our ability to attract, develop and retain talented people who take pride in their work and successfully deliver for our business. Effective L&D underpins quality and productivity by supporting our people to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their work, helping them reach their personal and professional potential.

Effective L&D does not happen by chance. It requires specialist resources who partner with the Audit Stream to identify training needs and appropriately respond to them. Careful planning and project management are necessary, as are a critical-thinking and commercial mindset, and an understanding of regulatory requirements. Effective L&D needs consideration of the latest innovation, tools and technology to support development of leading personal and professional development that is tailored, relevant and timely for our people.

We are looking for a talented, high performing and ambitious individual to join our Learning Implementation team to support the effective delivery of our programmes. The role would suit both those with previous experience in similar roles who may be looking for a new opportunity and those looking for their first foray into learning implementation and who wish to leverage their project management, problem-solving and relationship skills in a new role.

The role reports to the Assistant Manager in the Implementation team and then upwards into the leadership team via the Business Partnering and Implementation Lead (BPI). The role can be based anywhere in the UK. Travel to the London office, where Audit Stream L&D is based, as well as some travel to other offices and external venues, will be required. Certain support on or delivery of courses will require residential stays.

Learning Implementation team (LI)

Learning Implementation aims to provide our learners with the best possible learning experience. It is the team responsible for ensuring that our learning programmes are delivered effectively, leading on overall project, risk, financial and commercial management of our programmes.

The successful candidate will join a team of coordinators within the Implementation team and support the Assistant Manager with all aspects of the implementation processes – ‘making the Learning happen’. Key responsibilities include managing all logistical elements of our programmes, including but not limited to planning, scheduling, and managing our programmes, sourcing and managing suppliers and venues, building curriculums onto our learner management system, and providing support with the coordination of the Faculty (our tutor pool).

You will be responsible for:

  • Support coordination with the Audit Stream on learning logistics - collaboration with Audit Stream operations teams (resourcing, headcount, finance) and stakeholders as appropriate to schedule event timings that align with needs of the business
  • Communicate with delegates regarding specific course requirements, providing consistent messaging in a timely manner
  • Develop your own knowledge of L&D policies and processes and identify opportunities to share best practice (including opportunities to streamline / simplify operational processes)
  • Support managing the L&D Central Inbox and field out queries / actions as appropriate, supported by the Implementation Assistant Manager and the Ops Manager (as needed)
  • Support the effective management of target audiences for learning and completion reporting (managed by the Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance Manager)
  • Provide administrative support during the learning evaluation process as directed by the relevant team within L&D
  • Support the Faculty programme with logistical and operational support as needed (under the direction of the Faculty Manager(s))

Required skills and experience

  • Keen interest in supporting the development of others through the execution of personal duties
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently, delivering to deadlines as appropriate
  • Previous experience with L&D activities would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal (with experience of data analytics preferrable)
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and focus of pragmatic, commercially viable solutions
  • Strong relationship skills with an ability to work with varied stakeholders, influence agendas and drive forward activities
  • Focus on personal development, operational excellence and quality
