The Operations PMO was created in June 2021 and is responsible for maximising BDOs change investment; helping deliver Change in the most effective and efficient way; track, record and report on expectation, help build change delivery capability across the firm; and bring in teams to help the firm deliver.

You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

We are looking for an experienced outcome-focused enterprise PMO Manager on a fixed term contract until February 2027 to connect the dots across PMO services and the portfolio, lead on maturing and delivering central PMO activities (e.g. Project & Programme Assurance/Governance/Standards & Best Practice), and support the firm on focussing on what matters, analysing data to provide insightful recommendations to key governance forums, programmes and PMO processes. In this role you’ll:

  • Be accountable for the provision, and continuous improvement of regular key PMO services (e.g. project and programme assurance, quality management, reporting, risk management, benefits management, resource management & capacity planning, dependency management, communications, process documentation etc.)
  • Embed self in key programmes that require interim support until PMO practices are embraced
  • Act as a custodian of PMO and Programme / Project delivery process and practices (and associated continuous improvement)
  • Operating within and assist in maturing the Change Minimum Standards

You’ll be someone with:

  • Extensive experience of PMO/P3M practices including maturity models
  • Extensive experience of change delivery approaches (e.g., Waterfall, Agile)
  • Experience of designing and operating Project and Programme Assurance Processes
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies (e.g. AI/Automation) for the continuous improvement of PMO services and the ability to identify and lean into challenges
  • Experience of Organisational governance structures and associated relationships
  • An inquisitive nature, connecting the dots across complex processes and teams
  • An understanding of the corporate vision and strategy and the wider industry.
